౨ৎ How do you incorporate creativity into your Christmas celebrations? ౨ৎ

"We’re a very creative family and luckily my older daughter is also incredibly artistic - she would happily spend the whole day crafting. We usually make something almost every day during the Christmas season, whether it’s handmade gift tags, garlands, stars, or even little sewing projects we do together"

౨ৎ What small rituals help your family slow down & savour the season?౨ৎ

"We do a lot of crafting and luckily there are so many festive projects to make during the Christmas season. It really helps us slow down and enjoy the moment. And of course, we drink hot tea and snack on homemade cookies"

౨ৎ What Christmas traditions from your own childhood have you carried into your family? ౨ৎ

"I grew up in a family that didn’t really have many Christmas traditions and I think that’s exactly why it’s so important to me now to create as many meaningful traditions as possible with my own children".

౨ৎ Are there any handmade decorations or crafts that hold special meaning for your family? ౨ৎ

"Definitely! This year I made our Christmas tree topper myself, using vintage fabrics that my grandmother once gave me, which makes it even more special. It’s full of embroidery and beadwork; one side has a swan and the other a lucky horseshoe. I hope that one day one of my daughters will use it on their own
tree, so it becomes a little heirloom and a reminder of the Christmases we’ve shared as a family. Another meaningful tradition is that we create our own Christmas greeting cards every year. I make them as paper collages, cutting out every element by hand from vintage cookbooks, fashion magazines, old books, or anything interesting I can find. I then assemble the pieces into a design, scan it, turn it into a greeting card, have it printed as postcards and we send them out with a few warm Christmas wishes to all our friends and family"

౨ৎ What’s one simple but special tradition you think every family should try? ౨ৎ

"Send Christmas greeting postcards by mail! My girls absolutely love writing and decorating the cards and then taking them to the post office. We really cherish
his little ritual. It’s simple, but so special.

౨ৎ Is there a Christmas memory your kids talk about long after the holiday is over? ౨ৎ

"Yes, definitely! Our family Christmas postcard is something the kids talk about for a long time afterward - sometimes even throughout the whole year!"

౨ৎ What’s a tradition you hope they continue when they have families of their own? ౨ৎ

"I really hope I’ll receive lots of handmade Christmas postcards from my girls and their own families one day. Just thinking about it makes me emotional - it would mean so much to me"

౨ৎ What’s one thing you’ve learned about motherhood during the Christmas season? ౨ৎ

"I’ve learned that mothers are totally crazy, in the best and most magical way! We’re the ones behind all the Christmas magic; we’re the elves, Santa Claus, and everything in between. Since having children, I appreciate Christmas so much more and it has truly become my favourite time of the year!"

౨ৎ If you could give other mums one piece of advice on where to start with creating Christmas magic, what would it be? ౨ৎ

"Do as many handmade and homemade things with your kids as you can! One day, those little projects will become the most beautiful and meaningful memories"
