Since day one, PHILE has committed itself to fostering mindful consumption habits, presenting collections that are lasting in both quality and style. We are highly aware that sustainability improvement is an ongoing process that is never finished. Each part of the value chain is important and all steps, small to big, have an impact on people, animals and our planet.
Linen and cotton, like cashmere, are high quality fibres that have been used for thousands of years. They are durable, breathable and above all, natural, only improving with age as they soften through use. Our linen products are manufactured as naturally and ethically as possible by a small business based out of Lithuania using OEKO-TEX certified fabric, meaning they are completely free from harmful chemicals. If you want to find out more about the certification you can read more at oeko-tex.com.
All PHILE orders are packaged using 100% cardboard and brown kraft paper and sealed with water-activated tape to encourage recycling.

MACHINE WASH. Separate white, dark, and coloured linens. For best results, wash separately from other fabrics. Wash in lukewarm water using the gentle machine cycle. Use mild detergent formulated for delicate fabrics. Don't bleach.
HAND WASH. Fill a small container (bucket or sink) with lukewarm water and add about a teaspoon of mild detergent. Submerge the linen garment in lukewarm water and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Gently swish the item around. Don’t wring, twist or scrub as it can stretch the fabric. Drain the soapy water and rinse repeatedly until the soapy residue is all gone. Hang to dry.
DRYING TIPS. Over-drying can make linen brittle over time, so if using a tumbler dryer, it’s best to use a delicate setting and remove from the dryer while still damp. To finish drying, simply hang or lay the linen product flat. If you feel the linen needs pressing, iron while the fabric is still damp.
